Dr. Véronique Savoie

Psychologist

About Me

Whether through psychological assessment or therapeutic support, I believe meaningful care begins with understanding. An assessment is more than a diagnosis, just as therapy is more than reducing symptoms. My goal is to help young people and their families better understand their experiences, recognize their strengths, navigate challenges, and find meaningful ways forward.

My practice focuses primarily on comprehensive psychological assessment, particularly when difficulties involve multiple areas of functioning, including development, learning, attention, behaviour, or emotional well-being. In my practice, I integrate standardized assessment measures, developmental history, clinical observations, and, when appropriate, the perspectives of parents and other professionals to develop a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of each young person. The goal is not only to understand what may be difficult, but also to identify strengths, needs, and factors that can support healthy development.

I also provide therapy and intervention services for children and adolescents, as well as consultation and support for parents. My approach is humanistic, integrative, attachment-focused, and developmentally informed. I adapt my work to each person’s needs, goals, developmental stage, and place in their journey, drawing from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

In my therapy practice, I place particular importance on supporting parents. Parenting can be deeply challenging, especially when our children’s struggles intersect with our own experiences and vulnerabilities. I strive to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where parents can better understand their child and themselves, build confidence in their parenting, and find ways of responding that foster connection, security, and emotional well-being within the family.

Ultimately, my goal is to help young people and their families gain greater clarity, build on their strengths, and find meaningful ways forward. I am a Licensed Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick (CPNB) and hold a Doctorate in Psychology from the Université de Moncton, obtained in 2021. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and their families in school settings, mental health and addictions services, the New Brunswick Youth Treatment Program (Centre Pierre Caissie), and provincial child and adolescent psychiatry services in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
