About Me
Healing is a very personal experience and all reasons and are valid to seek professional support related to your mental health. Sometimes, the longer we wait, the more stuck we can get. Prioritizing your health is a courageous and honest step - one that can lead to the improvement of your sense of self and your relationships.
People usually come to therapy when facing various challenges, including low mood, intense emotions (e.g., guilt, anger, anxiety), low self-esteem, behaviours that go against their values, dysfunctional relationships, stressful situations, unhelpful ways of coping, intrusive thoughts, losses, etc. My hope is to meet you where you are in your process, not only to help you manage your symptoms, but also to support you in understanding the underlying causes of your difficulties to promote lasting change.
The quality of the relationship with your therapist is one of the strongest predictors of effective treatment, so our therapeutic relationship is my priority. I value curiosity, empathy, and emotional safety. You deserve a space where you can speak freely about your concerns and feel understood. I also welcome your feedback so that our work remains collaborative and tailored to your unique goals.
In our initial sessions, I will ask questions to better understand your developmental history and your social, professional, family, and health contexts. I will also ask questions to better understand your reasons for consultation, which will help us identify goals for our work together. Throughout the course of therapy, we will address symptom management through education and the development of internal and external coping strategies, while also exploring how your relationships, environment, and earlier life experiences may have shaped what you’re feeling and thinking today. My aim is to help you understand how you became the person you are today and to offer an individualized treatment approach that supports the development of self-awareness, healthy emotional regulation, strong relationships, self-confidence, and resilience in facing the inevitable ups and downs of life.
I also offer couples therapy focused on improving communication, connection, and mutual understanding, as well as psychological assessments to adults to clarify cognitive, emotional, and psychological functioning and possible diagnoses.
I graduated from the Université de Moncton in 2021 with a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). I have practiced in different settings such as hospital settings and mental health settings in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. I also completed my internship and residency in a private practice in Ontario. I am a registered member of the College of Psychologists of New-Brunswick, a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and a member of the Imago Relationships North America.
